Summer says goodbye on Plot 202

Yesterday was a lovely day in West London and although I didn't realise it perhaps the last hurrah for summer - not to say that there wont be more fine days but not ones where you can top up your tan.
Some nice 'Toms'
A squash before its journey home

In the picture you can see not only just a few  of the tomatoes I picked on Plot 202 during the day but also the sun reflecting off them.

I also brought home a Squash, some Pumpkins and perhaps the last of the rhubarb for the year.

The rhubarb plants (two)that I have  needs some care-  it is spreading and I might be able to divide and move at least one of the plants

A new plot holder sets a good standard

This year thanks to a number of dedicated plot holders the allotment site has really improved and the number of un-let plots is now approaching zero.

There's the start of a communality now that self governance is running with collections of scrap metal organised and a site shed.

It is really good that a few people on the committee of the site have been able to do something positive to the plot-holders amenities and the environment (Radbourne Walk in particular) - such efforts are often not appreciated.

The next weeks for me will be about clearing, fruit tree and brush pruning, turning over the soil and keeping the compost bins in order.
