Around and About (Ealing)

A great Sunday Lunch
Sad that the celebrated  Pizza on the Green has closed but there's still some well established places to eat - This Sunday we had a marvelous lunch at The Rose and Crown (just near St. Mary's church) - very good quality ingredients and a nice pint of Pride - Fullers are doing a great job with their West London Pubs.

Just along from PoG you can now see the building site that Ealing Broadway Station will be for next year or so as the Crossrail revamp gets under way
Premises outside the Station now closed for business

The former Café Rouge which did have a French flavour (but now closed) is now open again after quite a break.

The enigmatic name it will trade as  is 'Meat and Shake', the in place has  new management but a quite usual Grill menu - worth a try I'm sure.

No longer Rouge
But let's meet and shake?

Around Ealing

Well today we received our Council news (Around Ealing), and it is I think fair to say that the news within it is pretty much on a par with Soviet period propaganda - a horrendous increase in resident parking charges is described as restructuring and the delights of moving to a fortnightly waste collection with large ugly  wheelie bins  (unwanted by many locals) is given a positive spin.

Sad to say that their mention of the Parklet (moving to The Avenue W13 from W5 Bond Street this month) did not warrant a picture - so here's one.

The Parklet  - a way for the council to spend increased residents parking charges?
